Conversation Intelligence imports your Google Meet recordings without a bot joining the call. Use this guide to know what to expect, to start or stop a recording in Google Meet, and to confirm your recording appears in Conversation Intelligence.
After completing this guide, you will be able to:
- Recognize when Conversation Intelligence records your Google Meet meeting.
- Start or stop the recording from inside Google Meet.
- Confirm your recording appears in Conversation Intelligence.
In this article:
Before starting, make sure you have the following:
- Google Meet connection: Your admin has connected Conversation Intelligence to Google Meet and set the recording method to Cloud Recorder. If you are not sure, ask your admin.
- Conversation Intelligence role: You are assigned a recording role. Observers cannot record.
- Calendar connected: Your calendar is connected in Salesloft.
Things to Note: This guide applies when your admin has enabled Cloud Recorder for Google Meet, otherwise your team will still use Conversation Intelligence bot to record calls by joining your meetings as a participant. See Record a Meeting with Conversation Intelligence.
Your Conversation Intelligence recording settings decide which meetings are imported. You do not need to add anything to your Google Meet meeting.
- Start or join your Google Meet meeting: Start or join the meeting as you normally do. No recording bot appears in the participant list.
- Check that recording has started: If your admin turned on auto-record and your meeting is eligible, recording starts automatically. Otherwise, if you are the host, start the recording in Google Meet.
- Things to Note: Conversation Intelligence can import only meetings that your own Google Workspace organization hosts. If someone outside your organization hosts the meeting, the recording is not available to Conversation Intelligence.
- Review Google Meet’s recording notice: Google Meet tells participants when a recording is in progress.
- Stop the recording (optional): In Google Meet, stop the recording. You can stop a recording only from Google Meet.
- End the meeting: End the meeting as you normally do.
- Wait for your call to appear: Google Meet processes the recording and saves it. Conversation Intelligence then imports it.
- Things to Note: Processing can take from a few minutes to several hours, depending on the length of the recording. Conversation Intelligence checks for new recordings every 15 minutes.
You have successfully recorded your Google Meet meeting when:
- Google Meet shows that a recording is in progress during the meeting.
- The recording appears in Activity > Conversation Intelligence after Google Meet finishes processing it.
- The call shows a transcript and an AI summary when you open it.
- Real-time features: Real-time features, such as battlecards, are not available during Google Meet meetings recorded with Cloud Recorder, because there is no live transcription.
- Which calls are imported: Your admin’s recording rules decide which calls are imported. Your organization can also exclude certain domains and email addresses. If your admin allows it, you can override the default for your own meetings.
- Consent: Consent is limited to what Google Meet provides. Conversation Intelligence does not add its own consent experience for Cloud Recorder calls.
Avoid: Looking for a bot to remove. For Google Meet meetings recorded with Cloud Recorder, stop the recording from Google Meet instead.
