Google Meet Cloud Recorder lets Conversation Intelligence import Google Meet’s own cloud recordings without a bot joining the call. Use this guide to connect Google Meet, set the recording method, and choose which calls Conversation Intelligence imports.
After completing this guide, you will be able to:
- Connect Google Meet to Conversation Intelligence.
- Set the Google Meet recording method to Cloud Recorder.
- Choose which Google Meet calls are auto-recorded and imported.
- Exclude domains and emails, and let users control recording of their own meetings.
In this article:
Before starting, make sure you have the following:
- Permission / Role: Salesloft admin access to Conversation Intelligence settings, and Google Workspace admin access to the Google admin console.
- Existing bot users: When you set the recording method to Cloud Recorder, the Salesloft CI Bot no longer joins your Google Meet meetings. If your team records Google Meet meetings with the bot
- Open Integrations: Select Settings, go under the Conversation Intelligence section, and then select Integrations.
- Find the Google Meet card: Under Web Conferencing, find the Google Meet card and select Connect.
- Copy the client ID and OAuth scopes: Copy the client ID and the OAuth scopes shown in the instructions.
- Open the Google admin console: Sign in to the Google admin console as a Google Workspace admin.
- Paste the client ID: Paste the client ID into the field Google requires.
- Paste the OAuth scopes: Paste the OAuth scopes.
- Authorize: Select Authorize.
- Finish in Salesloft: Return to Salesloft and select Connect.
- Open Recorder settings: Go to Settings > Conversation Intelligence > Recorder and Transcription > Recorder settings.
- Select the recording method: Under Google Meet, set the recording method to Cloud Recorder.
- Turn on auto-recording: Turn on the Auto-record Google Meet calls toggle. This imports calls automatically instead of relying on each host to start recording in Google Meet.
- Choose which recordings to import: Select which Google Meet cloud recordings Conversation Intelligence imports:
- All cloud recordings from recording users
- Recordings for meetings scheduled on the recording user’s calendar
- Only meetings that match your auto-recording configuration
- Set your auto-recording rule: If you selected Only meetings that match your auto-recording configuration, select a rule: any meeting with an external participant, any meeting with an external participant where the host is a recording user, or all meetings.
- Exclude domains and emails (optional): Add domains or email addresses to Restricted Domain(s) and Restricted Email(s) to exclude them from auto-recording.
- Allow user overrides (optional): Turn on Allow users to control recording of their meetings so individual users can override your organization’s default for their own meetings.
Things to Note: If you selected the third import option, review your auto-recording rule, restricted domains, and restricted emails. Salesloft checks them before the call to decide whether to turn on auto-recording, and again after the recording is available to decide whether to import it.
You have successfully configured Google Meet Cloud Recorder when:
- The Google Meet card shows Disconnect, which indicates an active connection.
- Cloud Recorder appears as the recording method under Google Meet in Recorder settings.
- In a test meeting, no recording bot appears in the participant list.
- After Google Meet finishes processing the recording, the call appears in Activity > Conversation Intelligence with a transcript and AI summary.
