Salesloft
tracks opens by downloading a 1x1 tracking pixel each time an email is opened. You're first instinct may be that the email is very popular and gaining a lot of views.
However, there are other reasons your email is showing more opens than average. Here are a some possibilities to consider:
- The prospect has legitimately opened the email that many times. This could be a good use case for Hot Leads . Your team can designate the "number of email views" as an event point that will prompt users to reach out to People who have viewed emails a certain number of times.
- The prospect forwarded it to other people (the view will tie to the prospect you sent the data to).
- If you CCed or BCCed anyone on the email and they open it, the view also ties to the first person listed in the To: line.
- If you're reaching out to prospects whose companies have strict security. Sometimes the security system will do a scan of the email and trigger a "open."
- You have gone into your Sent folder to review the email.
While you cannot control how many times a recipient views an email, you can control the notifications you receive whenever an email is opened. If you do not want to receive notifications every time a view occurs, you can turn it off in your
Salesloft Chrome Extension (this would apply to all emails) or you can
mute email threads.
