If your automated email is marked as
Overdue or otherwise did not send, it is most likely due to an incomplete dynamic field or tag.
When an automated email is marked as Overdue or still has not sent, you must manually send the email, or move the person to another step in the Cadence. Updating the field after the scheduled time for the send will not send the email.
Why does Salesloft stop an email from sending when a dynamic field is missing information?
Incomplete dynamics fields happen when a field does not contain information in the Person's details. This may be data that was missing upon import.
Without the data in the dynamic field, the tag name appears in the email, for example {{first_name}}. Sending an email with the dynamic tag name is not the best experience for your email recipient, since it makes it obvious you didn't make the effort to craft the email yourself. In an effort to save you from that awkward situation, Salesloft will not send emails that are missing dynamic field information.
How can I be sure my automated email will send and my dynamic fields are populated?
First of all, check your data. If you recognize a field is continually missing information, you may want to clean your data source.
Also, if you realize that field is constantly missing, you may want to remove the dynamic field from your template.
Finally, you can review your Cadence email drafts to confirm that your dynamic fields are complete. When you add people to a Cadence email step, open the email step. Go through the emails by clicking the arrows in the upper left corner of the email window. Add the information for any missing dynamic fields. Save your emails and they will send at the scheduled time.
