If you’re experiencing email deliverability or bounce/reply tracking issues, our Support team often needs your full email headers as the first troubleshooting step. The steps required to retrieve email headers vary from platform to platform.
In this article, we’ll discuss how to pull email headers for the most common email clients, including:
- Open Gmail in a web browser.
- Open the email that contains the headers you want to download.
- On the right side of the email, you will see three dots; this is the More button; click it to view the full email.
- Click Show original.
- Another tab will open up, and you will see something similar to the capture below:
- Here, you have two options to grab your email headers:
- Click the Copy to clipboard button, paste the header into a text file, and send it over as an attachment to support@salesloft.com.
- Click the Download Original link to download the entire header as an .eml file. Once you have that, attach the file and send it to support@salesloft.com.
Things to Note: When you download the file, its name will be the subject of the email you downloaded the headers from. For example: <Email Subject>.eml.
- Click the email you want to pull headers from.
- At the top left of your screen, click View.
- Hover over Message and click Raw Source. You will see another screen containing all your headers.
- Once you have your headers open, click File, then Save As. The headers will save as an .eml file.
- Send the .eml file to support@salesloft.com as an attachment.

- Double-click the desired message.
