The Google Meet Integration allows Salesloft Conversations to capture your Google Meet meetings.
In this article, you will learn how to capture a Google Meet Meeting inside Conversations. This article includes:
Once you've enabled the Google Meet Integration, Conversations will capture meetings that:
- Adhere to the Conversations Meeting Capturing Rules.
- Are 'new', i.e. scheduled after the integration was enabled.
- Are manually recorded inside Google Meet, i.e. you hit 'record' during the meeting.
- Follows these specific start time requirements:
- If the meeting begins before its scheduled start time, it must be within a 5-minute tolerance window. Meaning, if a meeting starts more than 5 minutes early, the meeting will be marked as Incomplete.
- If the meeting begins after its scheduled start time, it must start before the scheduled end time.
Things to Note:
- Including the meeting link in the location and/or description fields will not trigger Conversations to capture the meeting.
- When meetings are created from a Google Calendar, meeting participants in the same organization as the meeting organizer are automatically granted access to the recording.
- The Conversations Google Meet Integration proactively captures recordings. This means that only meetings scheduled to occur after the integration is enabled will be captured. If you would like this integration to capture a recurring meeting, you will need to update the meeting invite, ex: make a slight update to the meeting title.
- Updating the meeting invite will allow the Conversations Google Meet Integration to recognize the meeting as a new meeting., Tthus, it will be captured.
- This integration follows the rules around domains and alternate email addresses set up in the Conversations team settings.
- The meeting owner will receive notification that the meeting recording is available and will be labeled as the recording’s owner on the Conversation Details Page.
Internal meetings will not be captured, even if they’re recorded.
To ensure your meeting is successfully captured, you’ll want to start by scheduling a meeting and properly formatting your meeting invite.
You can schedule a Google Meet meeting one of two ways:

Since the Conversations Google Meet Integration captures recording files generated inside Google Meet, initiating the recording within Google Meet is essential for the integration to capture your meeting.
This integration allows Google Meet to share the recording file as well as any necessary information available, including the recording transcript.
Things to Note:
- Your recording notifications and controls will all be managed inside the Google Meet user interface. You cannot manage recording from Salesloft.
- You can record a meeting in Google Meet when you are the organizer (creator) of the meeting OR you’re in the same organization as the organizer.
- During the meeting, you can stop and resume recordings by using the Google Meet app’s video player controls. This way you can pause recording while any sensitive or confidential information is shared. Once the video is processed, Salesloft will stitch the recorded parts of the video together and deliver it as one Conversations recording. The following people will be notified when a recording starts or stops, but can’t control the recording:
- People outside of your organization
- Mobile app users
- People who dial in using a phone
- If the organizer changes or if the meeting occurs outside of the scheduled calendar time, the recording link is sent to the original event creator.
To record a meeting in Google Meet, follow these steps:
- Open your Google Meet meeting to start the meeting.
- Manually hit Record. This will open the Recording window.
- From the recording window, check the Also start a transcript box. This will ensure that your meeting will be recorded with full speaker data, which is used to produce the recording transcript.

Once the meeting is complete, an email with the recording link is sent to the meeting organizer and the person who started the recording. Recordings are automatically placed into the meeting organizer's Google Drive in the Meet recordings folder.
The recording file link is also added to the Google Calendar event, as long as the recording starts at the scheduled meeting time.
