The Zoom API Integration enables Salesloft to seamlessly capture meetings recorded in Zoom meetings. This integration works via an API (Application Programming Interface), which creates a connection between Salesloft and Zoom. This connection allows both platforms to communicate and exchange meeting recordings and related data.
With the Zoom API Integration enabled, any meeting you record in Zoom is captured inside Salesloft Conversations. Once Salesloft captures recording files from Zoom, the recording appears inside Conversations where you can review it, create clips, take detailed notes, track action items, and gain deeper insights— all in one place.
In this article, you will learn the steps that need to be taken to enable the Zoom API Integration for your team. We will focus on the Zoom application actions. This article includes:
There are some important things you should know before setting up the integration:
- Review the steps listed in our Conversations Admin Checklist.
- To configure the Zoom API Integration for your team, you must be both a Salesloft admin and a Zoom admin.
- The Salesloft admin who configures the Zoom integration must remain an admin in Salesloft after establishing the connection. If the connection is interrupted for any reason, other Salesloft admins will be notified.

To pre-approve the Salesloft Conversations app, your Zoom administrator can navigate to the Zoom Marketplace and follow the instructions listed in Zoom's App Pre-Approval Guide.Things to Note:

We recommend that you check with IT or an admin in order to pre-approve the Salesloft app in the Zoom Marketplace.
Once the Salesloft Conversations app is pre-approved, you can proceed with configuring the cloud recording settings in Zoom.
The Zoom API Integration utilizes Zoom’s native recording functionality to produce recording files from your meetings.
To ensure that Conversations can successfully capture your team’s recording files, you’ll want to ensure that your Zoom Cloud Recording settings are properly configured.
To configure your Cloud Recording settings in Zoom, follow these steps:
-
Go to your Zoom Admin settings
-
Select Account Settings under the Account Management category.
-
Search for Cloud recording downloads, then uncheck the box labeled Only the host can download cloud recordings.
-
Things to Note: If you do not see the Only the host can download cloud recordings box, be sure that the Cloud recording downloads setting is enabled. When the toggle area is blue, the setting is enabled.
-
Click the lock icon to the right of the toggle. This will ensure this setting configuration is locked and cannot be changed.

Things to note: Make sure the advance cloud recording setting Create Audio Transcript is enabled on the Admin account to ensure that audio transcriptions are being labeled with the correct speaker name.
