How Drift Email can help support data compliance
Opt-out and opt-in compliance:
Drift Email can help you handle unsubscribe requests that come through email replies (when someone replies to your email asking to opt-out rather than clicking the unsubscribe link). This is a critical element for GDPR and other anti-spam laws.
If you are running any double opt-in campaigns, or campaigns to ask for explicit opt-in consent, Drift Email can also help manage the replies (for example, if a contact replies and says that they would like to opt in or opt out.
Data validation & cleanup:
Drift Email can help you clean your database by identifying invalid email addresses or people who have left their company. Scrubbing these from your marketing database is a best practice to avoid bounces and spam reports.
Deleting contact data from Drift Email
Drift offers two methods of deleting contact data permanently from Drift if you choose to do so.
Deleting individual contacts: Navigate to Settings > Data Privacy. From there, search for a contact by their email address, and select Delete contact.
Deleting contacts in bulk: Under Settings > Data Privacy, upload a CSV of email addresses you'd like to remove from the system.
Best practice for CSV uploads: please keep the amount of contacts on the CSV under 1000, and if possible remove any contacts from the CSV that have already been deleted in Drift Email to avoid duplicate contact errors.
