When using Drift, you'll most likely want a notification when someone is chatting in or if a high value opportunity is on your site! Setting these up is simple and will help you customize Drift to your own use case.
In this doc, we'll go over
- Where to find your notification settings
- What options are available to you
- Other options of note
- What do notifications look like?
Plan availability:
Notifications for Drift are available on all plans.
Note: The following notification instructions apply to both the Drift web app and the Drift desktop app.
Where to find your Notification Settings
Within Drift, simply navigate to the settings cog by clicking on your profile image at the very bottom left and then looking for “Notification settings” in the menu.

From there, you’ll be taken to a central page with a series of tabs for different features within Drift as well as two additional tabs covering general settings for your notifications like the sound or appearance, and a help tab for troubleshooting.
Most notifications can be sent either via email on a set cadence, or if you prefer real time, can be sent directly through your OS or Browser as a desktop notification by checking the corresponding boxes.
Note: Drift's web browser push notifications are encrypted.
Chat, Admin & ABM Notifications
Within Drift, several features are able to send you notifications. For conversations happening in Drift chat, you can choose whether you’d like to be notified of all conversations, only those you’re personally responsible for, or using custom conversation sections.

For users who own accounts in Drift, ABM and account activity notifications make it easy to stay on top of priority leads and high-intent accounts as they interact with your site and content. Make sure any saved filters are notifying you here. For more information on saved filters and building a targeted account list, check out this doc on Drift Prospector. If you’re a user of our Outreach integration, those notification settings are available here as well.
Admins in Drift also have a series of emails they can enable to keep tabs on integrations and other happenings in Drift.
Note: Video view notifications and any meeting reminders or assistant email notifications are not found here and should be managed through the appropriate nav icons.
Managing Your Notifications on Mobile
In order to manage/snooze your applications from the mobile app, click on your avatar and then click Manage notifications.
From there, you can snooze notifications, toggle sounds, and change which conversations for which you're notified.
Note: You must have a notification preference alert set within the web app for mobile in order to get mobile notifications as well as having downloaded our mobile application.

Other Notification Settings
For any type of notification, you can adjust the display and sound to match your preferences or use our ‘help’ tab to troubleshoot the system if notifications aren’t being received for any reason.
Note: You must click the checkbox to the right of the drop down menu if you want to enable sound for your notifications.

Should you need to turn off notifications for a time, the “pause notifications” button at the top right can be used at any time to quiet the application. Just remember to turn them back on when you’re ready!
